Designer of the week

Designer of the week is a new segment I want to do which will talk about different clothing designers and thier clothing brands.

Today I will be talking about Yves Saint Laurent and his brand YSL. He was born in france and started off with Christian Dior and is one of the main reasons the company is still alive. He had also been in a mental hospital because of nervous breakdowns as a result of being in a war. When treated he started YSL with a Atlanta Millionare and his lover. He then Retired in 2002 and had made a YSL museum house. Unfortunatly he passed away earlier this summer, on july first.

The Brand of YSL was very famous from 1950s through up to the 1970s. The brand made way for many clothing pieces that set trends in these times. The Brand was also one of the first to use "coloured" models for thier shows. In 1999 Gucci baught the brand and made its clothes. This brand is VERY expensive, Examples A t-shirt with a large YSL logo costs 285 US$, A leather Jacket costs 2,250 US$, A polo Shirt Costs over 250 US$. Be very carful for fakes and watch out for sales. Only get the real deal!
