HYPE.
If you followed part 1 of this post then you saw the phone, many of you were probably curious whether it is true and others probably believed that it was real. The truth is that is fake, and that it is really well done marketing by the people in N.S. It was one of the coolest things that I have seen in a while, but why does such a beautiful place like Nova Scotia need something like it. It is just because of the internet.
The internet is wonderful, it is a great tool. And is used by millions of people everyday, but unfortunately in some businesses it has taken the natural and organic process out. In our business for example, I think that if we were doing this without the internet, it would be a total different process. There would be no blog, it would be a magazine. There would a totally different way to sell, no e-shop it would be a store. Because of the internet, we have access to so many choices! This takes time to decipher and ensure we are getting the best. But without the internet there would be a few choices and would take less time!
There are millions of small brands like us, and all of us are trying to get our 15 minutes of fame. We are all trying to get 'hype' all trying to get attention. We need it to survive. Without the internet, we would all represent our city, and we would work together rather then against each other! I think that 'hype' has ruined the natural process in a lot of brands, which is why they have no substance. Because of this we will try to make this process as natural as possible, the way it should be!

hey there, just a note that N.S. & L. doesn't exist. The province is Nova Scotia. And it was NOT a tourism ad, but rather a ad from Nova Scotia Come to life, a place branding initiative for Nova Scotia intended to update peoples perceptions of the province and promote it as great place to live, work, invest, study and more..
