I find Sri Lanka's case very interesting because it is such a old problem, and has so many injuries and casualties along with it. Yet we never see it in the media, until today. Today there was a human chain (a very long one) starting at union station and expanding throughout downtown. There were elders, parents, little kids, and teenagers! Everyone was there, demanding that they get some help. I think that the media should go there (Sri Lanka) and show the governments and the rest of the world what the government of Sri Lanka is doing to people. It is bad. I have a lot of Tamil friend's and they know all about this, and comparing their stories to the ones I hear on the media are like DAY AND NIGHT! At least now the media is beginning to shine some light on the suffering Tamil's in Sri Lanka, but the Canadian government needs to listen to the voices of the 300,000+ Tamils in Toronto and help out the Tamils back home. You need to check things out and make sure you know the truth, how the government is corrupt, and how the Tamil Tigers are rebels that are HELPING people not causing pain. They are trying to cut out the pain! All I can say is good luck to the ones who truly want peace and harmony, one day it will come.

Our dearest condolences to the family and friends of anyone of the 400+ people that have died very recently.

I was on the champs sport store's website today and it said to enter my phone number to get text messages to my phone with promos, and releases. I did so and then they wanted more information. This screen popped up and asked questions, like my full name, sports I play and questions like that. But then one of them said "Which Ethnic Group Best Describes You?" CAN THEY ASK THAT! DAMN! This just got me very mad, what difference does it make if I am black, red, orange, brown or purple!? Guess who I am no longer shopping at!

Bush bombarded with buffed boots in Bagram

In his latest news conference, bush was called a "dog" then had 2 shoes thrown at him. He did not get hit but it was very funny. I think that someday someone will call him something worse then a dog, and throw something worse then a shoe. But until that day comes this is funny enough. Ew republicans.

Today, I went to the mall to just walk around and try to catch some deals. I noticed two themes in almost every single store:
1) NO PEOPLE! - the stores were 'dead', It may have been that I went late, but compared to last year there was no one in the stores and the people that were in the stores were not buying anything!
2) There were a lot of sales! No complains here, but there were so many, sales like 60% off. And sales you would expect on boxing day!

For people who think we are safe and are not being affected by a recession, they are ignorant and are living under a rock! Hold on to the cash people, except for when you are buying Avanti Stuff!

R.I.P Ted

Ted Rogers the chair of the Rogers has unfortunately passed yesterday. He was in the hospital the past month because of some heart problems, he passed yesterday due to congestive heart failure. He was 75 years old, and was definitely a true symbol of toronto. He was a true trontonian. His co-workers say that no one worked as hard as he did and that he would work 24-7. I just hope that we can have half a positive influence on the world as ted rogers. From the Avanti Blog team Good-bye Mr. Rogers.

Going to space for $74,000

A banker has splurged $74,000.00 and he will go to 200,000 feet high. It will only last 30 minutes and he will only get to feel weightlessness for a few minutes. It is only 2 people, imagine if you were up there with the person you hated! He is such a space slut he has also booked a mission into space with virgin galactic and space adventures! I want to go into space so when the clothing line is released buy it so I can get some money and take some pics from space and put it on the blog!

CEO of Yahoo stepping down!

Jerry yang who is the CEO and the co-founder of web company, yahoo has told us that he will be stepping down. To sum it up he is just tired and needs to go. He has only been CEO for one year and has made some weird decisions. And then there was the offers from Microsoft to purchase yahoo. So get your resumes ready and send them over!
