Most HD TV's have a ratio of 16:9 which means that for every 16 inches wide its 9 inches tall. This TV is 21:9 which means for every 21 inches wide its nine inches tall. Its called the Philips Cinema 21:9 and is the worlds first TV with such a wide display. The reason it is so wide is so that when you watch a movie, you will not have the annoying black boxes at the bottom and top, without ruining the resolution!
